2/8

For the last three days we have be slogging through rotational kinematics and moments of inertia.  I have uploaded the power point presentation and it can be found to the right of the blog below the important links.

This chapter and the following chapter (Ch 10 and 11) are probably the hardest material we are going to cover this whole year because the number of types of motion that can occur within a single problem is increasing.  It is imperitive that you quickly learn all of the new rotational variables that now we have, what their relationships are to each other, and their analogous variables in translational motion.

These two chapters also are the most Calculus intensive.  For Calc I students, if you are struggling with the Integrals, just remember that the AP test isn't until May, so you'll have lots more time in this class and in Calculus to practice Integrals.  For Calc II students, this should be a matter of applying what you have already learned in Calculus to the Physics concepts.

Hang in there!  After this we only have two more topics to cover.
