10/22

Objective:  SWBAT relate force with the motion of an object.

Warm Up:  Get out your netbook, open edmodo, and start the sim.

Note that the you will be using two different sims for this assignment- Moving Man, and Forces and Motion.  To get to the sims within the pHet site, click on Physics on the far left column.  The Physics sims are listed in alphabetical order.

9/25

Objective:  SWBAT explore vectors using a riverboat simulation

Warm Up:  Get out your netbook, log on to edmodo and complete the river boat sim posted in edmodo.  Copy and paste the questions into a word doc, answer the questions and resubmit to me as a post in edmodo.

9/20

Objective:  SWBAT manipulate unit vectors including addition, cross products and dot products.

Warm UP:  Today is a work day.  Finish your sim, or take notes from the power point, or work on the problems assigned.  NO food or drink around the netbooks.

9/19

Objective :  SWBAT review the basics of projectile motion.

Warm Up:  Get out your netbook and log into edmodo (unless your netbook number is listed on the board).  If your netbook number is listed on the board then it won't run the sim because it doesn't have Flash installed.  Use one of the regular student computers instead, until we fix the Flash problem.  Complete the U of Colorado (PHeT) sim activity.  NO FOOD OR DRINKS MAY BE OUT WHEN YOU ARE USING THE NETBOOKS.

Note:  The average on the M.C. section of the test was 73%.  It is obvious from the grades that you either knew the material or you didn't.   I have not graded the FRQ yet.

9/11

Yesterday we did a lab to determine d, v and a of a cart given a constant acceleration from a fan.

Today we worked in small groups learning how to differentiate simple equations using some calculus short cuts.

9/5

Objective :  SWBAT review the basics of kinematics.

Warm Up:  What are the 4 basic kinematic equations that we used last year (not the one that define d, v, and a)?
