11/30

Objective:  SWBAT determine if a spring and a rubber band obey Hooke's Law.

Warm Up:  Pick up a lab.  Do the prelab activity for Part 1.

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

11/29

Objective:  SWBAT master basic derrivative and antiderrivatives needed to be successful in this class.

Warm Up:  Everybody who is in AP Calc 2 should find a partner who is in AP Calc 1.  If the displacement of a particle is represented by the equation d= 3t^2- 10 t + 6, what is the acceleration of the particle?  How fast is the particle going at t=1 s?

11/28

Objective:  SWBAT calculate the work done on or by a system.

Warm Up:  Turn in yoru Ch 7 outline.
Define work.  What are the important components of work?

Friday, November 18, 2011

11/18

Objective:  SWBAT calculate forces in accelerated timeframes.

Warm Up:  Pick up yesterday's work and a colored pen.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

11/16

Objective:  SWBAT determine the centripetal force on a rubber stopper.

Warm Up:  Watch the video I will show shortly.  Explain what causes the aurora borealis that you see.

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

11/15

Objective:  SWBAT design a lab to determine the centripetal force on a rubber stopper.

Warm Up:  Pick up a lab packet.  Form a group of 3.  Preread the lab.

Note:  Points will be deducted for-  groups larger than 4, unsafe use of lab equipment (including not wearing goggles), not cleaning up after your group.

11/14

Objective:  SWBAT understand what makes objects move in circles.

Warm Up:  Pick up one handout.  When is the centrifugal force not a fake force?

If you missed Thursday's test, you must make it up tomorrow A lunch.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

11/9

Objective:  SWBAT review for tomorrow's test.

Warm Up:  Get out your review sheet and pick up your graded papers.
Turn in Friction lab.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

11/8

Objective:  SWBAT begin reviewing for Thursday's test

Warm UP:  Pick up your review sheets (staple) and solve the first question.

Friday, November 4, 2011

11/4

Hopefully you made the most of the work time in class yesterday.

Objective:  SWBAT determine the relationship between the coefficient of friction, the normal force and the force of friction experimentally.

Warm Up:  Pick up a handout and SILENTLY read the front page of the lab.

Wednesday, November 2, 2011

11/2

Objective:  SWBAT understand how friction affects the motion of objects.

Warm Up:  What two graphs do you need to produce from yesterday's experimentation and how do they relate to the lab?

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

11/1

This class is a DRAG.....!

Objective:  SWBAT determine the drag force on coffee filters.

Warm Up:  Pick up your graded papers.
Get back into your groups and get out your lab from yesterday.  Once the preliminary questions are answered, you can design and complete your lab.
